Artist Michelangelo Divine Releases Brand new single “Seventies” Lucky for us we were able to briefly interve

“Seventies” is definitely a bop, what was the inspiration behind the track and is it a metaphor?

I’m very inspired by woman with natural beauty especially women who wear their natural hair. “Seventies” was written at a time when a relationship I was in started deteriorating. I didn’t want to express the feelings in a depressing way I searched to find a way to express it on something that you could move too.

What do you think are some of the most inspiring things happening in music currently?

I’d say seeing artist become very successful indie. Everything Chance the Rapper has done is a huge inspiration for me.

Your sound is very melodic, what albums did they grow up listening to?

I fell in love with many genres of music early on but started out as a full fledged rapper. Inspired by Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye West. Eventually I found my strongest inspirations in Drake, Michael Jackson and Alicia Keys. I discovered that I could sing as well and it completely changed my whole style and perspective on what I was doing.

Your style reminds me of a perfect mixture of Jeremih and The Weekend, what is your response to listeners who may question your style direction?

I plan to be as diverse an artist as possible and not box myself in to much. I feel like genres are dying and music is becoming a-lot freer. Expect a lot more from me.
