Long Beach California is home to hip-hop artist Guy Lewis, one of the industries newest game changers. While his hometown of Long Beach is well known for its sense of community support. Guy prides himself on his self-reliance, openly using the term “Self Made”. Guy has certainly expressed this through the methodology and thought process behind his newest mixtape entitled “7day$”.

For Guy, the debut and creative process of the project were something that he intended to do on his own void of features and industry pressure. Instead, he simply enlisted the help of close friend and producer SJ, who so effortlessly incorporated his spin on some of the music industries top hits such as “tunnel vision”.

This “back to the basics approach” has allowed for some well-deserved notoriety. From hip hop sites such as the Hip Hop vibe, Kaboom magazine in LA and Raps and Hustles. All of which have pegged him as a definite artist to look out for. The 7 track project consists of a medley of mainstream top hits which guy has effortless remixed allowing his supporters to look beyond the music and really get in tune with his flow.

Though for Guy 7Day$ isn’t just a project it’s a life style, he describes it as a “Hustle type mentality” different from those in the 9-5 sphere. 7Day$ is more of an independent brand encouraging people to build a network and have their own companies. 7Days on no days off.

The project has already done well reaching 1000 plus plays on sound cloud. However, it is now time for him to kick it into high gear really bringing the name Guy Lewis into the forefront

About Guy

Guy believes that making music on his own is the best way for supporters to get to know who he is as an artist. Allowing for a real image of his grind, rather than being overshadowed by other artist, their voices, and their sounds. Guy considers his flow a mix between the calm voices and tones of the West coast much like artists such as 2 Pac, Kendrick or Nipsey Hussle, paired with the heavier beats of the East coast displayed by artists such as Nas, Krs1 or 50 cent.

This flow is certainly on display on his latest project where he effortlessly moves through his lyrics flowing smoothly and strategically creating a unique sound. While attention from that project has allowed for him to perform at LA’s chain reaction stage along with a few other “house” shows, Guy is now making a conscious effort to break through the underground making a much more mainstream name for himself.

Overall Guy is certainly an artist to look out for this year, seeing as though he’s not only motivated by climbing the charts but by the need for stability not only for himself but his family saying quote “I do everything for the greater good and hope to receive the blessing in the in between”.
