Asic Detail Shot 1

Sneaker craftsman El Cappy strikes again, this time a little different from his usual custom catalog. He’s well known for creative collaborations that resulted in the ‘South Beach Jordan 6’s’ & ‘Camo Foamposites’ w/ sneaker enthusiast & blogger Juan Neal. Of course, there have been countless other insane conceptual kicks El Cappy has been responsible for over the past few years.

This time around he teams up w/ Detroit rapper/artist Phil Swish for a private order of the Asic Gel Lyte III’s, inspired by his upcoming debut project release ‘Black Wool’. The shoe is made of a soft gray nubuck & woven mesh toebox that gradually fades to black (like a gradient design), toward the back of the shoe. Two orange 3m stripes on the toebox as well. A black speckle print leads the fading and is accompanied by a black & gray camouflage print throughout the stripes on the side of the shoe; w/ orange highlights around the trim of the stripes. But it doesn’t stop there. The shoe also includes a black rubber panel in the back, right above the mid sole covered w/ black elephant print. A gray & black speckled soft midsole helps to bring the cohesiveness of the patterns together. To top it all off, the shoe includes gradient leather laces & orange python lace tips. Of course an El Cappy custom wouldn’t be complete w/o his gold custom lace lock.

It’s a very comfortable canvas styled sneaker & w/ Cap & Swish’s designs it gave a traditionally laid back shoe some real creative flare. If the design of the shoe compares to Swish’s music for his project Black Wool’, I’m sure it’ll be nothing short of a classic.
