Drake Breaks Record With New Single ‘Make Me Proud’
0Remarkably, Drake’s new single, ‘Make Me Proud (Ft. Nicki Minaj)’, rocketed from #97 to #9 on this week’s Hot 100 tally. The track has matched the largest ever on the lineup by a male artist set by Akon’s #95 to #7 jump exactly 5 years ago in 2006 with ‘Smack That (Ft. Eminem)’. Kelly Clarkson still holds the title for the largest ever single-week ascension with ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’, which bounced from #97 to #1 in 2009.

French Montana Says Waka Flocka Gets “Lyrical” on Their New Mixtape
0Last week, Bronx native French Montana and Waka Flocka Flame released their adaptation of Mobb Deep’s classic joint, “Hell On Earth.” Properly titled “Hell On Earth 2K11,” the updated version even included M-O-B-B’s own Prodigy. Although it was already a Mobb record, French told XXLMag.com that the two thought it would be a good idea to add P to the line up.
“We were just in the studio doing the track,” Frenchie recalled, “and Flocka was like, ‘You know who would sound crazy on that? Prodigy.’ [So] I got Prodigy on the phone and I was like, ‘Send that right now.’ He sent it right [back]. Big shout to Prodigy definitely.”
French said that isn’t the only shocker on two’s forthcoming joint mixtape, Lock Out.
“It’s gonna be crazy,” he promises “ [People] gonna be surprised because Flocka got on his lyrical [side].”
For those doubters that don’t believe Montana, look no further than “Hell on Earth 2k11.”
“Nobody expected Flocka to get on something like that,” he said.
The song comes amidst a slew rumors regarding a possible label bidding war for Montana involving Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group, among others. Slightly touching on the story, FM did mention that he’s weighing all his options.
“I done sat with everybody, from Ross—he showed me crazy love—, Diddy, shouts to Kanye, everybody,” he shared. “They kept it all the way a 100 with me and hopefully you know, we’ll make it happen. I’m just laying all my options, that’s my whole thing. I gotta weigh all my options [and] then imma go with the best deal, its only right.”
Lock Out is currently scheduled to drop on November 9, while his collaborative mixtape with Three 6 Mafia, Cocaine Mafia is due out around Christmas time.
