Wale Enlists Ne-Yo, Lloyd, & Miguel for R&B-Heavy Sophomore Album
0Wale is gearing up to release his Warner Bros. debut album, and a sneak listening with XXL proved that he’s not the only one with Ambition.
On the project, which will be Wale’s first retail and second solo (he dropped The Eleven One Eleven Theory mixtape in August) since joining Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group is mainly a solo showcase of the D.C. spitter’s skills. Still, there are a handful of features that appear on the former XXL Freshman’s sophomore effort.
The title track, “Ambition,” features MMG cohorts and fellow October 2011 XXL coverboys Rick Ross and Meek Mill. Beyond that, though, the guest spots are mainly reserved for R&B crooners who only provide hooks, allowing Wale to stand alone on his verses. There are melodies from Miguel (“Lotus Flower Bomb”), Lloyd (“Sabotage”), and Ne-Yo (“White Linen [Coolin]”). As previously reported, Kid Cudi is also on the album, as well, providing the hook for “Focused.”
Wale’s Ambition is set to hit stores November 1.

Pharrell Reveals He’s Working With Jay-Z And The-Dream On Future Projects
0Skateboard P says he’s in “full producer mode.” During a private tasting for his new liqueur, Qream, Pharrell briefly touched on several artists he plans to get in the studio with.
Pharrell insisted on keeping things quiet about producing new music for Jay-Z, but was able to confirm that he will be working with him in the near future.
“I’m working with him but he’s not talking about what he’s doing. Whatever he needs I got him. I just can’t go into [it],” P continued. “There’s some magic.”
Pharrell also spoke briefly on the new music he’s worked on for Mary J Blige’s forthcoming album, My Life 2 and his admiration for The-Dream’s music.
“The Mary stuff is sick. [She’s] on her A-game right now. Her new album is incredible and I’m honored to be a part of it,” Pharrell continued. “Shout out to The-Dream, too. I did something for him and we’re getting ready to go in.”
The super producer was featured on “Real Sh-t N–ga,” from The-Dream’s recent free-album, 1977.
