Lil Wayne Wants To Bank $50 Million This Year

Lil Wayne wants to turn his Young Money into big money. The rap kingpin has revealed his lofty plans for this year and they include lots of money in the bank.
“I want to bank a cool $50 million at least,” Weezy told Interview magazine. “At the end of this year, I want to be able to say that I banked $50 million. Not generated $50 million, but actually banked $50 million.”
The “6 Foot 7 Foot” MC is already on his way to reaching his goal with his hot-selling “I Am Music II” tour and the upcoming release of Tha Carter IV on May 16. And to clarify, he says that amount is after taxes.
According to Forbes, Wayne took in $20 million in 2010, ranking No. 74 on the magazine’s Celebrity 100 list of the richest entertainers.

Mississippi rapper and producer Big K.R.I.T. has had quite a year. Since The BoomBox featured him in our Top Prospect column, K.R.I.T. signed a major label deal with Def Jam, toured with associates Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y and earned significant critical acclaim for his breakout mixtape, ‘K.R.I.T. Wuz Here.’ Nine months after his initial interview and on the release day of his new tape, ‘Returnof4eva,’ K.R.I.T. gave us the scoop on what to expect from his new material, working in the major label world and the role of spirituality in his music.

Vado Signs to Interscope

Vado is about to have a new home.
The Harlem spitter confirmed to XXLMag.com that he recently inked a deal with the Interscope Records. Details of the deal are still emerging.
V-Don’s retail mixtape, Slime Flu hit stores last October, and was released on eOne. His collabo album with Cam’ron, Gunz N’ Butta, is slated to drop next month on April 12 also through eOne.
Vado will be appearing on XXL‘s UStream show Spotlight next Wednesday, April 6.
As of press time, Interscope has yet to return e-mails for comment.

Drake Shut Out At Canadian Grammys

Despite his international success, Drake goes home empty handed at his local Juno Awards
Last night Canada held the 40th Annual Juno Awards at the ACC in Toronto, where international star Drake was nominated for six awards.
The Toronto native was nominated for the Fan Choice Award, which was taken home by Justin Bieber to little surpise. Drake lost the best Rap Recording category to Shad for his critically acclaimed TSOL, and dropped Single of the Year honors to K’naan and Young Artists for Haiti for “Wavin’ Flag.”
